Animals for Fashion
Humans use animal skin and fibre for a range of products including clothes, shoes, accessories and household furnishings. Industries that produce fur, leather and wool cause immense suffering to billions of animals around the world every year.
Given the vast number of alternatives from plant-based and synthetic fibres, there is no need to continue to use animals for fashion and other purposes. Cork and pineapple leather are among some of the alternative materials coming onto the animal-free market.
Please keep in mind when purchasing anything, that there can also be a human toll. Animal Liberation Tasmania encourages conscious, ethical buying. We acknowledge items that come with certain certifications can often be more expensive, this is where second hand buying from op-shops is a great alternative.
